Week 11

Training while on vacation is tough. I got my miles in while in California, actually training was a different story. I had set out on New Year's Eve for 6 miles to give me 1000 miles for the year. Ran along the boardwalk at Newport Beach, CA. Well, running alongside the ocean in a shorts and tshirt was too good to stop at 6. I ended up running 8 miles at 75% at a 10 mpm pace! 45 secs faster than normal. I will attribute that to NOT wearing a bunch of extra clothes and the beautiful views.

I made sure that I was up early enough on the next 2 days in California to get a run on the beach. I was 3 for 3. Love southern California and LOVE Newport Beach.

A quick stop in Omaha, NE - where it was -17, yielded no runs. Running in Columbus was a bit tough this week as well. First week back to work and school and throw in a snowstorm. Didn't get a ton of running in, but did my 9 mile long run in snow and 18* temps. Sunday was 5*, but sunny and no wind. The 4 mile recovery run was a piece of cake. My face got a bit chilly, but overall, I was comfortable.
